For an area capitol, Hexham has been devoid of a serious martial arts scene for sometime. ET Fitness has provided a venue and the call is being answered as HALO JIU JITSU brings BJJ to the town and it’s being welcomed by Youth and adults alike.
We have aimed to build a strong group in Hexham for sometime but with the government over reaction to a nasty cold between 2020 and 2022 it delayed plans for expansion, however now that madness is over and the expansion of the group as a whole we were delighted to get an authentic Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club started on Tuesdays 6pm and Saturdays 11am at ET Fitness in the heart of the historic town.
Our team coach Jamie Berry (Brown Belt and experienced Jiu Jitsu coach) heads up the Hexham group which is growing by the week now.

The Hexham group has a unique “Lads and Dads” feature which should possibly be called Parents and kids, where the parent is encouraged to join the mat on a Saturday with their enthusiastic youngsters.
The Saturday is open to all ages 5+ but kids under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent who has responsibility to keep their youngster well behaved! We’re martial artists not child care and thats our aim.
We plan to add in a Kickboxing group in Hexham possibly by Summer 2024.
