When I first learned the half guard it was at a seminar at Gracie Barra in London. Little did I know how much this technique would follow me around for the next 20 years or so.

Then I meet Angel Lopez whose professor (And technically ours) is Tinguinha and cutting a long story (very) short I end up joining Angel’s association “Halo”. Tinguinha, I learn later trained alongside the famous Roberto Gordo.

Lastly I meet Robson Gracie who turns out that despite his brother being the world famous Renzo Gracie, Robson received his black belt from Gordo….Funny how these things happen.

So I thought it’d be cool to kick off our Techniques section with a nice little sweep from the man himself. GORDO!
