Thursday Throw Down Night

Most stand up fighters who have never done MMA or any form of grappling live in the fantasy land that their striking ability will be enough to see them through any fight. Until of course they come into contact with someone who has even half decent takedowns or wrestling. Usually after around 30 seconds their belief system is shattered and they realise that kicking and punching alone is only as good as their ability to stay on their feet. Ask Conor McGregor after he met Khabib….

So on Thursday nights we are now doing a specific class which is aimed at bridging the gap between stand up (Boxing & Kickboxing) to ground fighting (Jiu Jitsu)

In our membership we are lucky to have a wealth of experience in this area with of course Alex (me) who has trained for decades in MMA, BJJ and many other disciplines, Andy Massey whom has been wrestling now for ten years with competition gold medals as well as MMA experience and David Crawford our resident Judo Black Belt.

If you are interested in having an all round skill set or just being able to make your striking count when someone charges forward in a bar then this class is perfect for you.

Thursday 6pm.
